Cite it!

When you write your research paper, you will need to cite the sources you've used.

Book citations include:

  • book author
  • book title
  • place of publication
  • publisher
  • date of publication

Periodical citations include:

  • article author
  • article title
  • journal title
  • journal volume, number and date
  • page numbers

Major style manuals for citation, for in-library use (the APA manual and MLA handbook are on reserve at the circulation desk, Turabian is in the reference collection).

  • Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association
  • MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers
  • Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations, by Kate Turabian
